Donald Trump wins the 2024 election and is elected the 47th president of the United states.
The 2024 presidential election was on November 5th, many students have an opinion about this topic at our school.
Eva Scott, an eighth grader on the voyager team, is very slightly disappointed in this election.
“As someone who likes Kamala and Walz, I was a shocked to hear that Trump had won the election. However, I would not at all say I’m completely devastated by it.” Scott said. “I want to see what Kamala will do outside of her life in politics and I think Trump will do some great things as well.”
Scott is not the only one with an opinion on this topic. Gauge Mann, an eighth grader on the Voyager team is pleased with the outcome of this election and believes you shouldn’t let politics come between friendships.
“I don’t care about who my friends support,” Mann said. “I have a lot of friends and only one of them likes a different president but that’s okay because I don’t care.”
Even though the two students have different views they both still agree that voting is very necessary.
“ I think it is important to vote because voting shows what the importance of America means to us.” Scott said.
Though teachers aren’t supposed to talk about their political views, they still have thoughts about how the students are involved. David Beggs teaches E-Gaming and he believes that as a teacher your thoughts should stay to yourself.
“I can keep it in the middle of the road like all teachers should, I think no teachers should talk about it, we just have too much influence on kids’ lives… but I’m glad they are informed about it.” Beggs said.
The final poll of this election was 312 to 226 with Donald Trump taking the final lead.
