The A team finished their season 6-8. B team’s record was 9-6 and C team was 5-6.
Kayden Jelinek is a seventh grader on the Pathfinder team. In the first game against Grain Valley, he had 9 points. The A team lost 27-34 after a physical game. He had 12 points in the game against Bingham where A team won 37-27. He enjoyed being one of the two seventh graders on the A team as a point guard.
“It’s my first my time ever playing middle school basketball,”Jelinek said. “It was more of a challenge for me.”
Brady Allen played 4-5 for B team. At the end of the season tournament, Allen had points against Congress to help seal the win 35-33. Against Grain Valley, Allen scored 11 points. For the final game, Allen scored 10 points against Grandview with a final score of 36-26.
¨I liked this season because I had a lot of fun with my coaches and teammates,” Allen said.
Shawn Keeton played 4-5 for the C team. He was a hard working player and always tried to make himself and his team better. His best game was against Raytown where he had 16 points contributing to the 43-22 win. Keeton is very proud of himself.
¨I feel very honored because I tried my hardest all the time,” Keeton said
Kelly Rumpel was the head coach and the A team coach, he believes that Barrett Walker was the most helpful player and helped a lot in practice and games.
¨He’s a good leader for everybody; he was an A team player but he encouraged everybody,” Rumpel said. “He was a C team kid last year and he came back and had a lot of experience; he’s just a generally positive kid and a good role model for everybody.¨
