E-Sports is a new class and David Beggs is the teacher. E-Sports is organized competitive video gaming.
Beggs had been considering leaving OTMS to work at the high school. He chose to stay here because of this new class that former principal Robbie Shepherd wanted to offer students.
“I’m passionate about video games. I’m nervous about it [E-Sports class],” Beggs said.
Martin Price is a seventh grader that has Beggs during 6th hour.
“I’m enjoying it so far,” Price said.
With the start of a new class, new gaming consoles and computer monitors had to be purchased. It was expensive.
“A little under $5000 of equipment for this class,” Beggs said.
Rylee Conley is seventh grader and has Beggs first hour. So far, he likes the class.
“I love playing games with friends so I can teach my friends cool tricks,” Conley said.
The e-sports class is about being winners and losers. Games that students will play are Minecraft, Mario Kart, and Beggs wants to try Rocket League.
