The word is out: Chris Short is retiring. She has taught at OTMS for the last 16 years, but has taught a total of 26 years.

During her career she worked in Lathrop, Missouri and Fort Osage. She has taught kindergarten through eighth grade. She has been a special education teacher and process coordinator.

She was a process coordinator for three years for McCune, Buckner, and Osage Trail.

Short’s room is on the second floor and she has taught in the co-teaching English department for 13 years.

Short has many memories of teaching in Fort Osage and will miss her students.

“My favorite memories are when students visit me after they have moved on to high school to let me know that they appreciated the job that I did while they were attending my classes,” Short said.

Short has exciting plans after she retires from teaching.

“I know for sure that I will be traveling to Europe and Asia in the Spring of 2023,” Short said.
