For the last four years, teams select four students to recognize for their hard work, improvements and efforts.
Melanie Bosh, the building principal, believes it’s important
to recognize these students at school and through Facebook. She wants parents, family, and the community members to see the great things kids are doing this. She hopes this practice continues whether she’s here or not.
“It’s something the teachers created and developed and we still want to recognize kids in a positive way,” Bosh said.
Josh Thuenemann is the math teacher on the Explorer team and he looks for a kid that hasn’t been chosen before. This reason for choosing the kid varies.
“It can be a really quiet kid, sometimes a kid who’s not done well in the past and has really changed, and done really well lately,” Thuenemann said. “Just overall good behaviors.”
Jordyn Hoover is a 7th grader on the Explorer team. Hoover was chosen for Fab 4 during first semester. Hoover hopes that Fab 4 can continue into the future and carry on for years.
“They can recognize kids for their hard work,” Hoover said.
Leveni Lauaki is an 8th grader on the Pioneer team. He was chosen for Fab 4 during the first semester. Lauaki is humble with this recognition.
“There were a lot of better people to be chosen than me, that should’ve been chosen,” Lauaki said.
Trevor Anderson is the science teacher on the Voyager team and he thinks that choosing for Fab 4 isn’t all that difficult. He feels like there is a big list of awesome students that he really likes. He enjoys letting them know that he’s proud of the work they do.
“They should be recognized [and] their parents should see how good they’re doing,” Anderson said. “The school should see that they are a leader amongst students.”
